8 Rivers Appoints Damian Beauchamp as Chief Executive Officer

A veteran of the 8 Rivers’ team, Beauchamp’s extensive project development and capital markets experience will be instrumental as the Company advances strategic partnerships and commercializes ultra-low-carbon power technologies at scale.

Durham, NC (April, 9 2024) – 8 Rivers Capital, LLC, a world-leading decarbonization technology developer, has appointed Damian Beauchamp as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Beauchamp joined 8 Rivers in 2015 as Chief of Staff and has held the position of President and CDO since 2021. He succeeds Chris Richardson as CEO.

During his tenure at 8 Rivers, Beauchamp has been responsible for developing the Company’s revenue generation model. He also pioneered 8 Rivers’ project development model and played an active role in four of the Company’s capital raises.

“I’m honored to lead 8 Rivers into the next era of the energy transition. Over the last decade I’ve come to understand how unstoppable of a force a pragmatic vision is when it’s paired with resilient efforts from talented people,” said Beauchamp. “8 Rivers is built on this power and it’s what we’ll use to scale our impact on the global energy stage. We’re continuing to meet companies and industries where they are, with clean and affordable energy solutions.”

“Damian’s unique blend of deep industry expertise, unwavering vision, and ability to scale impacts set him apart. The time is now to meet the biggest global challenges with bold innovation and hands-on partnerships.”

Beauchamp served on the Board of Directors for NET Power (NYSE: NPWR) for three years up until its going public on the NYSE in 2023. 8 Rivers founded NET Power in 2010 and remains a minority shareholder in the Company today.

Beauchamp also founded a pair of companies in the energy industry early in his career, further underscoring his passion for innovation in the energy sector. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous recognitions for his professional and entrepreneurial pursuits including inclusion in Forbes (Forbes 30Under30) and Fortune magazines.

8 Rivers remains focused on commercializing scalable, affordable decarbonization and ultra-low-carbon power technologies. The ascension of Damian Beauchamp to CEO follows a series of strategic partnerships and projects that will support these efforts including receiving $1.5 million in funding via the Wyoming Energy Authority’s Energy Matching Funds program for a planned carbon capture project with utility Rocky Mountain Power (RMP). Recently, 8 Rivers also selected Wood, global leader in consulting and engineering, to perform preliminary front end engineering and design (Pre-FEED) activities for that project. In August 2024, 8 Rivers partnered with Siemens Energy to develop a zero-emissions turbine that generates electricity from CO2, advancing carbon-negative power solutions toward commercial deployment.
